Brand Building The Tile Genie

Building and protecting brands is an integral part of my skill set. While it may seem elementary to safeguard what takes countless hours to create, it only takes a moment to jeopardize all that effort. The Tile Genie is a product of a local entrepreneur’s vision, and I played a key role in developing and establishing his brand as something truly distinctive. Beginning with a rudimentary logo that could have easily attracted the attention of Disney’s legal team, I leveraged my connections to introduce the business owner to a talented local artist, resulting in the creation of a refined logo and comprehensive brand guide.

Logo Design

Brands achieve success when they are connected with a distinct character. My client sought to utilize this strategy. After several months filled with numerous emails outlining revisions and extensive texts with the business owner, our artist unveiled the new identity for The Tile Genie. We finalized a logo that truly brought the brand to life.

Brand Guide

I would like to express my gratitude to our friends at Comfort Printed for their outstanding work on the brand guide. A well-defined mission and vision statement can significantly enhance a company’s overall presence. I believe that a new startup can truly capture its brand essence when a brand guide is developed in conjunction with logo creation. The following are samples from the guide.

Considering all the preliminary elements for the larger initiative (i.e., logo creation, Google account setup, legit phone number, actual company mission and content), the brand is making significant strides toward becoming a valuable component of this client’s marketing mix. The owner(s) are relying solely on free social media, their website, and Google digital advertising. The primary focus is on gathering relevant information from the site to make future choices with key KPI’s. Collaborating with this client was straightforward; they recognized the importance of the information they wanted to showcase online. A piece of advice for those working with clients who either do not comprehend or resist the brand-building process: be prepared for a significant challenge ahead—one that may feel insurmountable. Additionally, finding effective ways to communicate through writing will enhance your efforts.

Social Media Marketing

Building on the success of the logo creation and website development, I proceeded to enhance our social media presence. I focused on a strategy that included YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. One of the owners initially opted to create video content, which was a great choice, though not everyone feels comfortable with video or selfies. While I didn’t fully establish a comprehensive social media calendar, I worked with whatever content the client provided. I often utilized Canva to quickly produce engaging content.

On to the next

I have moved on from managing the social media and updating the website for The Tile Genie. Creating a brand from the ground up requires a firm foundation, and that foundation comes with strategic planning while building relationships. On to the next.
